Characteristics:

 

    UNS  S32750 is Super Duplex Stainless Steel, also called 2507/F53. Super Duplex Stainless Steel contains higher nickel, molybdenum, and nitrogen. It is the higher level in Duplex grade. The Super Duplex Stainless Steel has better corrosion resistance to apply in more stringent environment and more hot water. Also, Super Duplex Stainless Steel has longer life. Other advantages are including good weldability and operability, high level of thermal conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion, high corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, pitting-resistance and crevice corrosion resistance,  resistance to stress corrosion cracking ( especially chloride stress corrosion cracking), high energy absoption, high stength and corrosion resistance, and high impact resistance. But, it is not suggest to apply in temperature higher than 300℃ due to the decrease in toughness. Essentially, Duplex Stainless Steel is a compromise. It has some ferrite stress crossion cracking and many common Austenitic stainless steel good formability, more cost effective than high nickel alloy.

Characteristics:

 

    Super Duplex UNS S32760 is very similar to  S32750., only the chemical component is a llittle different.  S32760  contains a relativley small amount of  manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, molybdenum, and  nitrogen.  Especially, it contains higher    copper and tungsten.  However, these two chemical components all need same amount of carbon, chromium, nickel,and molybdenum. It can be interchange for some applications. Since it has the basic cost of smaller  amount of  Mo and  Ni.,  UNS  S32760 can  intense compete  with 6%  Mo  Super  austenitic  under some applications.  Because adding nitrogen to promote structural strengthening mechanism of interstitial solid solution, it ensures higher pitting resistance, stress corrosion cracking , corrosion fatigue, crevic corrosion, and better weldability than general stainless steel.

 

Applications:

• Chemical industry: Nitric acid process, the production of polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride

                              production, carbon dioxide, caustic soda evaporators, equipment handling

                              and fatty acids.

• Marine industry and shipbuilding: propeller and shaft, rudder, shaft seals, pumps, bolts and

                                                   fasteners, valves, instrumentation, oil and chemical tank.

• Oil and gas industry: pumps, valves, pipes, containers, wellheads, subsea equipment.

• Pollution control: fans and pumps, wet scrubbers, incinerators.

• Pulp and paper industry: heating, cooking burst valve, brownstock washers, dust,

                                      bleaching components.

• Food industry: sugarcane centrifuges, maize and vegetable processing plants.

• Agrochemicals: fertilizer production (wet process phosphoric acid). 

• Civil Engineering: sewage treatment.
